Special Forces in India

        Guys many Indian special forces work in mountains and deserts at night for me and you and every Indian.  But how many of us know about them.  A few have known about them.  This is what we are.  They are real heroes.  Surely we need to know about them.

SFF

        SFF stands for Special Frontier Force.  This was created on 14 November 1962.  Its main goal is to conduct the covert operation behind the Chinese line during or before another Sino-Indian war.  This army is running under the Prime Minister of India.  So they are reported to the Prime Minister of India directly.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.
        SFF fight in many major wars like Kargil's war and the Bangladesh Liberation war.

Para (special forces)

Special Forces in India

        Para special force was created in October 1941.  This is known as Para SF, which is a special operations unit of the Indian army.  They are use parachutes to attack and fight with enemies why they are called Para Special force.  So far many Battalions have been created in this force.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

Special protection group

        Special Protection Group (SPG) was formed in March 1985.  Its main goal is to provide high-level security for our (Indian) Prime Minister.  And they are now providing protection not only to the Prime Minister but also to the Former Prime Minister and his family too.  Currently, 3000 active personnel are working on it. 

National Security Guard

        National Security Guard (NSG) was founded on 15 October 1984.  It's run under the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).  National Security Guards are also called The Black Cats.  Their main goal is to protect our Prime Minister and powerful politicians from Terrorists.  Currently, 14,000 active personnel are working on it.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

Guard Commando Force

        Guard Commando Force was founded on 6 February 2004 and has a current strength of over 1500 active personnel now.  They are a special unit in the Indian Air Force.  Their duty is divided into two.  In Warm time duty, they rescue the fallen Airman.  In Peacetime duty, they protect the airbase and our country. 

Commando Battalion for Resolute Action

     COBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) was formed on 12 September 2008.  COBRA is the special unit of the Central Reverse Police Force of India.  Currently, 10,000 active personnel working in it.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

Ghatak Platoon

        Ghatak Platoon or Ghatak Commandos is not known when it was created.  The information about this is not great.  It has low operations and duties to do compared to the other special forces.  Their operational role is similar to SSP Platoons and STA Platoons.  Currently, 7000 active personnel working in it.

Indian Coast Guard

        Indian Coast Guard (ICG) was founded on 18 August 1978.  It operates under the Ministry of Defence.  Currently, it runs with 15,714 active personnel and 44 aircraft, and 178 vessels.  Coast Guard works in close cooperation with the Indian Navy and The Department of Fisheries and The Department of Revenue.  Many Coast Guard Stations in India.  They divided into five region coasts.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

Sashastra Seema Bal

        Sashastra Seema Bal is a border patrol organization.  It covers Nepal and India Bhutan and India border.  It was founded in 1963.  It is one of the central armed police forces.  It's under the administrative control of the Minister of Home Affairs.  Currently, It runs with 94,261 active personnel.

Rashtriya Rifles

        Rashtriya Rifles is the oldest force.  It is the branch of the Indian Armed Force.  It's under the authority of the Indian Ministry of Defence.  It is a little big force than some other Indian forces.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

Indo Tibetan Border Police

        It was founded and raised in 1962.  Its main goal is to protect the Indo Tibetan borderIt is one of seven Central Armed Police Forces of India.  It's under the CRPF act.  It is India's primary border patrol organization with its border with Tibet and China.

Central Industrial Security Force

        It was founded on 10 March 1969.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.  It is a big force than other Indian forces.  Currently, it runs with180,000 active personnel.  It was under an act of the Parliament of India.

MARCOS

        MARCOS stands for Marine Commandos.  It was founded in February 1987.  It is the special forces unit of the Indian Navy.  MRCOS is capable of doing all environments.  It operates in sea and air and on land.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

CRPF

        CRPF stands for Central Reserve Police Force.  It was formed on 27 July 1939.  It was India's largest Central Armed Police Service.  It runs under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).  This is India's largest Paramilitary with 256 Battalions and 413,634 active personnel.  Its main mission is shall be to enable the government Rule of Law.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

Railway Protection Force

        Railway Protection Force (RPF) was formed on 2 July 1872.  It was a railway security force.  It was established by Railway Protection Force Act in 1957.  It provides protection for railway property and passenger areas.  Currently, it's running with 75,000 active personnel.

Border Security Force

        Border Security Force (BSF) was formed on 1 December 1965.  It is India's primary border guarding organization on its border with Pakistan, China, and Bangladesh.  It's guarding and protect from terrorists in three borders.  And it is one of the three Border Guarding Forces (BGF).  It's currently running under 257,363 active personnel.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

National Disaster Response Force

        National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) formed as a special response to a threatening disaster situation.  It was formed in 2006 under the Disaster Management Act.  Prime Minister is the chairman of this force.  Currently, it's running with 13,000 active personnel.  It's divided into 12 special units.  These 12 units are located in 12 different locations.

Force One

        Force One was formed on 26 November 2010 in Maharashtra.  It was formed by the Maharashtra government to protect the metropolitan area in Maharashtra.  It is a specialized counter-terrorism unit of the Mumbai Police. This force was only in Maharashtra.

Assam Rifles

        Assam Rifles is one of the oldest forces in India.  It was formed in 1835.  It is under the control of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).  Currently, it's guarding the Myanmar - Indo border.  This force participates in world war 1 and 2.  Currently, it's running with 63,747 active personnel.

        It was founded on 1 April 1985.  It is the largest component of the Indian Armed Force.  It is a land-based branch.  The primary goal or work of the Indian army is to ensure national security and protect our country from Terrorists.  It is the biggest force of the land force.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

Rapid Action Force

        Rapid Action Force was formed on 11 December 1991 with headquarters in New Delhi.  It is a specialized force of the Central Reserve Police Force of India.  Its primary goal is to prevent and deal with riots and control the crowd, rescue, and relief the operations.  Currently, it's running with 16,000 active personnel.

Indian Navy

        It was founded on 5 September 1612.  The president of India is the Supreme Commando of the Indian Navy.  This is the largest force of water-based forces.  It is the water (sea/ocean) based branch.  Currently, it's running with 67,252 active personnel and 55,000 reserve personnel and with 250+ ships.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.

        Indian Air Force (IAF) was founded on 8 October 1932.  This is the air arm of the Indian armed force.  This is the largest force in the air forces.  Currently, it's running with 139,576 active personnel and 140,000 reserve personnel, and 1800+ air crafts.  It is an important force in Special forces in India.  The president of India is the Supreme Commando of the Indian Air Force.

Defense Security Corps

        Defense Security Corps (DFC) was founded on 25 February 1947 at Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.  Its main goal is to provide protection for Defense Ministry Sites.  Currently, it's running with 31,000 active personnel.
