Freelancer is the best website for freelancers. More than 18 million projects have been registered since the freelancer was launched. And more than 45 million users have been registered since the freelancer was started. Freelancer has more users than any other freelancing website.
How to start
First, go to the official website of freelancers. Then register your account. They give two options for registering your account. One is email, another one is Facebook. My preference is email. Because at anytime Facebook can block your FB account for a privacy violation. Doing so will affect your freelancer account.
1. Set your profile
After the register set up your profile to bid on or post the project. Please provide actual data. Because the client will give you the project depending on your profile. The more true your profile, the more likely you are to get the project.
- in the profile picture set your photo.
- provide the current location.
- provide genuine details about your education.
- provide genuine details about your experience.
- provide the details about the work you last worked on.
- write a short paragraph about you in the description.
2. Verify some verification
After setting the profile you need to verify some verifications. Those verifications will increase the genuinity of your profile. On your profile page that verification list visible on the right side.
- phone
- payment
- identity
- preferred freelancer
3. Set your portfolio strongly
The most important thing in setting up a profile is the portfolio. Because the portfolio will get the first project for you. If your portfolio is very strong, you will get your first project quickly. You'll receive reviews from your customers after finishing some projects. Then you'll get more jobs and projects from your reviews and stars. So the tough job is to get the first project. After you finish the first project then automatically you'll get the projects easily. The portfolio that buys that first job. So set your portfolio strongly.
- Provide the details about your old projects.
- Upload the old project file.
- If you have a website then give your website link.
Most beginners make the mistake of not giving the portfolio strongly. That's why they didn't get the first job. If you are a beginner you have not done any work on this website so you have not got any stars and reviews. So your first job is given depends on your portfolio.
4. Set up your skill list
List your skills after completing the setup in your profile and portfolio. The skill list on the freelancer website is very important. Because freelancer suggests the jobs for you based on your skill list. In the freelancer, there will be a lot of skill options. You have to choose your skills and make a list.
After completing these steps you are done setting up your profile. Now you understand what is freelancer and how to register as a freelancer.
How to earn in freelancer
After registering and setting up the profile you can earn money as a freelancer through work for your clients/complete the project. The earning process in freelancers is.
- find your client/project
- bidding on the project
- working on the project
- submit your work to your client
- then get your payment
1. Find your client/project
"Find your project" is very important. Choose a project that you can do and you know about. Do not choose a job you do not know for any reason. The client will pay you only after you have finished the job. So if you do not finish the job properly, you will not get paid. So choose a project that you know.
2. Bidding on the project
Most beginners made mistakes in bidding. If you are a beginner then choose a small project and bidding on that project. Because all the big projects are only available to those who get the most stars and reviews. So even if you bid for that project, you will not get it.
Some technique for beginners
- Choose a low-cost project.
- Choose the least competitive project and bid for that.
- Provide the details about your work for that project.
- Finish the job at a lower cost.
- Finish the job at a low time.
- Give the customer the trust that the project will be completed properly through a description.
- Then bid on the project.
And remember one thing if you use the freelancer by a non-member, you have only 8 bids for the month. i.e., you can bid on only 8 projects in a month.
3. Working on the project
Half the job is done once you bid and get that project. Then give your 100 percent on that project. Complete the project exactly within the specified time. Get all the information about the job of your client while doing the job. Then work accordingly with that information.
4. Submit your project
After complete your project then gives all files and rights to your owner. Once you give your work to your client You can't claim it after that. All copyrights go to your client(owner).
5. Get your payment
After submitting your work, you will easily receive your salary from your client. The client will send the money to the freelancer dashboard, then you can withdraw your money from the freelancer via PayPal. But freelancer takes some money for the fee(for using freelancer).
Above the five steps are the process of how to earn money on a freelancer's website.
